purpose of Costa Rican government is TO SAVE the turtle eggs from natural predators like vultures, gulls, crabs and other animals which eat new born t

An egg harvest by villagers at Ostional beach,
a remote community near Punta Gurones on Costa Rica's Pacific coast (U.S)….

The Costa Rican government initiated the Egg Harvest Project
which allowed villagers to continue their traditional practice of harvesting eggs.

The harvests are strictly controlled, with villagers only allowed to take eggs
within the first day and a half of each egg laying event, known as an "arribada".

The capacity of the half mile Ostional beach is insufficient for the large number of nesting turtles
and thus many clutches are destroyed in the nesting process.

As thousands upon thousands of Olive Ridley turtles climb on to a stretch of beach,
70-80% of previously laid nests are crushed or dug up during the subsequent nesting.

It is for this reason that the Egg Harvest Project is justified.
Villagers wait and watch, harvesting the eggs laid in the first day and half of the arribada.

Over the years this practice has proven to increase the percentage of successful hatching by as much as 20%.

A major contribution to the success of the Egg Harvest Project is the lack of decomposing eggs.
Otherwise the decomposed eggs develop bacteria and contaminate rest of the eggs as well.

The Egg Harvest Project at Ostional helps to protect and sustain this precious species.
The project represents an innovative, and so far successful approach to species protection.

-
And the response from reliable sources is : >>

I consulted with a cyber friend who lives in Costa Rica and he says that the email that circulates about stolen turtle eggs is NOT TRUE, it's a lie.
The purpose of Costa Rican government is TO SAVE the turtle eggs from natural predators like vultures, gulls, crabs and other animals which eat new born turtles.

Govt to warn on baby slings

Govt to warn on baby slings because of deaths
– A baby sling is displayed in Washington, Wednesday, March 3, 2010. The U.S.
WASHINGTON – The government is preparing a safety warning about baby slings — those popular and fashionable infant carriers that parents strap around their chests to give the little ones a cuddle on the move.

The concern: Infants can suffocate, and at least a few have.

The head of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Inez Tenenbaum, said Tuesday that her agency is getting ready to issue a general warning to the public, likely to go out this week, about the slings.

"We know of too many deaths in these slings and we now know the hazard scenarios for very small babies," said Tenenbaum. "So, the time has come to alert parents and caregivers."

Tenenbaum spoke at a meeting of the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association, an industry trade group that certifies certain children's products, including soft infant carriers.

Tenenbaum did not single out any specific baby slings or discuss the number of deaths linked to them. But there have been complaints for a couple years now about some baby carriers.

In 2008, Consumer Reports raised concerns about the soft fabric slings and some two dozen serious injuries, mostly when a child fell out of them. A follow-up blog warned about a suffocation risk and linked the slings to at least seven infant deaths.

Consumer Reports, published by Consumers Union, complained about the "SlingRider" by Infantino. The "bag style" sling wraps around the parent's neck and cradles the child in a curved or "C-like" position, nestling the baby below mom's chest or near her belly.

It's the "C-like" position that causes safety advocates to shudder. They say the curved position can cause the baby, which has little head and neck control in the early months, to flop its head forward, chin-to-chest — restricting the baby's ability to breathe.

Another concern: that the baby can turn its face toward mom's chest or belly and smother in the parent's clothing.

Infantino's "SlingRider" was recalled in 2007 for problems with the plastic sliders on the sling's strap. But there have been no recalls because of a suffocation risk.

A statement from Infantino said the company believes the SlingRider is safe, but added that officials there were working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission "to address the agency's concerns and those of any parents and caregivers."

Baby slings have been billed as an important way for new moms to bond with their babies.

Use of slings, also known as "babywearing," has become increasingly popular in recent years, with colorful and vibrant slings seen on Hollywood moms and sold everywhere from big retailers such as Babies R Us to smaller outfits like BabySoSmart.com in Kansas City, Mo.

Tiffany Speck, a nurse who owns BabySoSmart and sells her own baby carriers, has been warning about slings where the baby falls into a chin-to-chest position in the classes she teaches at hospitals, stores and doctors' offices.

"You wouldn't want to put a baby in there," Speck said during an interview with The Associated Press. "The baby is curling, head toward toe, and what happens is the baby occludes its own airway."

Speck recommends that babies in slings remain in an upright position, with the baby's tummy facing mommy's tummy.

No tourist will be allowed to interact with Jarawas: Centre -Andaman + Nicobar Islands- India

No tourist will be allowed to interact with Jarawas: Centre

Dhananjay Mahapatra TNN

New Delhi: The Jarawa tribe numbering just over 300 in Andaman & Nicobar Islands and facing extinction would soon be isolated from the commercial world and no tourist would be allowed to interact with them, the Centre told the Supreme Court on Monday.
Terming the Jarawas to be highly vulnerable to diseases and virus carried by urban population, attorney general G E Vahanvati told the apex court that no tourist resort would be allowed to function within a fivekilometre buffer zone created around their habitations on the western coasts of South and Middle Andaman Islands. One such tourist resort, which has been ordered to be closed, protested before a bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and justice B S Chauhan and its counsel K K Venugopal said the decision was arbitrary as its business was in no way affecting the habitation of Jarawas nor interfering with their lives.
Countering this, Vahanvati asked why would foreigners and tourists need to come and interact or even watch the Jarawas. Appearing for the Lt-Governor of the Union Territory, the AG said the power to create a buffer zone needed to be exercised by the authorities to make the measures meaningful and effective in protecting the endangered tribal population.
But, the bench understood the pressing needs of the time and stayed judgment of the Calcutta high court circuit bench at Port Blair allowing the resort — Bare Foot Inns and Leisure Pvt Ltd — to continue commercial activity despite being situated in the buffer zone notified in recent years. Venugopal assured the court that there was not a single Jarawa within the five-km buffer zone and that the resort only had 10 tents. But, the bench said there was no question of any commercial activity within the notified area.
To ensure a rich resource of forest-based traditional food like wild pig, turtle, honey and fish, the Jarawa reserve area has been increased from 847 to 1,028 sq kms and the exclusive marine resource base has also been increased by declaring coastal water upto 5 km from the High Tide Line as a tribal reserve under the central policy.

Hey, Roger, I sent this letter to all my GOP Congress people...although they only way they will ever vote for health reform is if Blue Cross and Humana tell the it's OK! I am sending a copy of this message to all my online friends. Hey people, even if you do not need, or even WANT reform, there are people in your town, your neighborhood, your hospitals who desparately need our help! And by the way, with Dodd signing on today, we only need 14 more Senators to add on to the public option!

Dear Mary,

Demand Up-or-Down Vote For Health Care

The President and the congressional leadership have made it clear to the conservative minority: if you refuse to compromise, we will finish the job without you. Demand Congress schedule an up-or-down vote on health care NOW. GO »

We've debated health care for over a year. The House and Senate passed their bills. The President has bent over backwards to be bipartisan.

It is long past time to get this done.

Click here to tell Congress: We want an up-or-down vote on health care reform, NOW.

The President and the congressional leadership have made it clear to the conservative minority: if you refuse to compromise, we will use Senate budget rules that prevent filibusters to finish the job without you.

We must let Congress know we demand action.

Click here to tell Congress: We want an up-or-down vote on health care reform, NOW.

Congressional conservatives continue their efforts to obstruct anything that would rein in the destructive practices of the insurance industry.

If they won't stand up to the insurance industry, we will.

In fact, a major rally led by Health Care For America Now is taking place Tuesday, March 9 to execute a "mass citizens arrest of the insurance companies" which will be meeting in Washington, DC that day.

If you plan to be in the DC area, meet at Dupont Circle at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 9 to take part in the "mass citizens arrest."

Whether or not you can make it the rally, you absolutely need to make your voice heard in Congress.

Click here to tell Congress: We want an up-or-down vote on health care reform, NOW.

Failure to heed to majority will and pass health care reform will let the insurance companies profiteer off of the status quo for at least another decade.

With costs continuing to explode, we can't afford to do nothing.

With more than 40 million people still without insurance, we can't put their lives at risk.

Congress needs to get the message. It's time to act.

Sincerely,

HEART ATTACK - DON' T PANIC-

Something that we can do to help ourselves.. Nice to know.

Bayer is making crystal aspirin to dissolve under the tongue. They work much faster than the tablets.

Why keep aspirin by your bedside?
About Heart Attacks

There are other symptoms of an heart attack besides the painon the left arm.
One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin,as well as nausea and lots of sweating, however these symptoms may also occur less frequently.
Note: There may be NO pain in the chest during a heart attack. The majority of people (about 60%) who had a heart attack during their sleep, did not wake up. However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep.

If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water.

Afterwards:
- phone a neighbor or a family member who lives very close by
- say "heart attack!"
- say that you have taken 2 aspirins..
- take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door, andwait for their arrival and...
~ do NOT lie down ~

Where is Hollywood situated

The REAL Story Behind The Location of HOLLYWOOD!!!
Many people think that Hollywood is situated in California because of all of the glorious sunshine associated with the area, but the real reason behind the placement of Hollywood is a little more sly than most would think.

While it is true that it takes a lot of light to produce good films, especially in the early days of the industry, it actually had much more to do with patent infringement.

Thomas Edison, the noted inventor, still held a patent on film cameras, and the movie makers who were infringing on those rights weren't too keen on handing over their cash either, so to get as far away from Edison's lawyers as possible, they moved as far away as possible, while still remaining in the United States.

The back-up plan, should the lawyers also follow them westwards, was to then move on down south into nearby and accommodating Mexico.

Goldman Sachs and other big banks aren't just pocketing the trillions we gave them to rescue the economy - they're re-creating the conditions for another crash
Goldman wasn't alone. The nation's six largest banks — all committed to this balls-out, I drink your milkshake! strategy of flagrantly gorging themselves as America goes hungry — set aside a whopping $140 billion for executive compensation last year, a sum only slightly less than the $164 billion they paid themselves in the pre-crash year of 2007. In a gesture of self-sacrifice, Blankfein himself took a humiliatingly low bonus of $9 million, less than the 2009 pay of elephantine New York Knicks washout Eddy Curry. But in reality, not much had changed. "What is the state of our moral being when Lloyd Blankfein taking a $9 million bonus is viewed as this great act of contrition, when every penny of it was a direct transfer from the taxpayer?" asks Eliot Spitzer, who tried to hold Wall Street accountable during his own ill-fated stint as governor of New York.

A Lifetime of Planning Pays Off

A Lifetime of Planning Pays Off

"You gotta be crazy!"

That's what Lee Dunham's friends told him back in 1971 when he gave up a secure job as a police officer and invested his life savings in the notoriously risky restaurant business. This particular restaurant was more than just risky, it was downright dangerous. It was the first McDonald's franchise in the city of New York - smack in the middle of crime-ridden Harlem.

Lee had always had plans. When other kids were playing ball in the empty lots of Brooklyn, Lee was playing entrepreneur, collecting milk bottles and returning them to grocery stores for the deposits. He had his own shoeshine stand and worked delivering newspapers and groceries. Early on, he promised his mother that one day she would never again have to wash other people's clothes for a living. He was going to start his own business and support her. "Hush your mouth and do your homework," she told him. She knew that no member of the Dunham family had ever risen above the level of laborer, let alone owned a business. "There's no way you're going to open your own business," his mother told him repeatedly.

Years passed, but Lee's penchant for dreaming and planning did not. After high school, he joined the Air Force, where his goal of one day owning a family restaurant began to take shape. He enrolled in the Air Force food service school and became such an accomplished cook he was promoted to the officers' dining hall.

When he left the Air Force, he worked for four years in several restaurants, including one in the famed Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York. Lee longed to start his own restaurant but felt he lacked the business skills to be successful. He signed up for business school and took classes at night while he applied and was hired to be a police officer.

For fifteen years he worked full-time as a police officer. In his off-hours, he worked part-time as a carpenter and continued to attend business school. "I saved every penny I earned as a police officer," he recalled. "For ten years, I didn't spend one dime - there were no movies, no vacations, no trips to the ballpark. There were only work and study and my lifelong dream of owning my own business." By 1971, Lee had saved $42,000, and it was time for him to make his vision a reality.

Lee wanted to open an upscale restaurant in Brooklyn. With a business plan in hand, he set out to seek financing. The banks refused him. Unable to get funding to open an independent restaurant, Lee turned to franchising and filled out numerous applications. McDonald's offered him a franchise, with one stipulation: Lee had to set up a McDonald's in the inner-city, the first to be located there. McDonald's wanted to find out if its type of fast-food restaurant could be successful in the inner city. It seemed that Lee might be the right person to operate that first restaurant.

To get the franchise, Lee would have to invest his life savings and borrow $150,000 more. Everything for which he'd worked and sacrificed all those years would be on the line - a very thin line if he believed his friends. Lee spent many sleepless nights before making his decision. In the end, he put his faith in the years of preparation he'd invested - the dreaming, planning, studying and saving - and signed on the dotted line to operate the first inner-city McDonald's in the United States.

The first few months were a disaster. Gang fights, gunfire, and other violent incidents plagued his restaurant and scared customers away. Inside, employees stole his food and cash, and his safe was broken into routinely. To make matters worse, Lee couldn't get any help from McDonald's headquarters; the company's representatives were too afraid to venture into the ghetto. Lee was on his own.

Although he had been robbed of his merchandise, his profits, and his confidence, Lee was not going to be robbed of his dream. Lee fell back on what he had always believed in - preparation and planning.

Lee put together a strategy. First, he sent a strong message to the neighborhood thugs that McDonald's wasn't going to be their turf. To make his ultimatum stick, he needed to offer an alternative to crime and violence. In the eyes of those kids, Lee saw the same look of helplessness he had seen in his own family. He knew that there was hope and opportunity in that neighborhood and he was going to prove it to the kids. He decided to serve more than meals to his community - he would serve solutions.

Lee spoke openly with gang members, challenging them to rebuild their lives. Then he did what some might say was unthinkable: he hired gang members and put them to work. He tightened up his operation and conducted spot checks on cashiers to weed out thieves. Lee improved working conditions and once a week he offered his employees classes in customer service and management. He encouraged them to develop personal and professional goals. He always stressed two things: his restaurant offered a way out of a dead-end life and the faster and more efficiently the employees served the customers, the more lucrative that way would be.

In the community, Lee sponsored athletic teams and scholarships to get kids off the streets and into community centers and schools. The New York inner-city restaurant became McDonald's most profitable franchise worldwide, earning more than $1.5 million a year. Company representatives who wouldn't set foot in Harlem months earlier now flocked to Lee's doors, eager to learn how he did it. To Lee, the answer was simple: "Serve the customers, the employees, and the community."

Today, Lee Dunham owns nine restaurants, employs 435 people, and serves thousands of meals every day. It's been many years since his mother had to take in wash to pay the bills. More importantly, Lee paved the way for thousands of African-American entrepreneurs who are working to make their dreams a reality, helping their communities, and serving up hope.

All this was possible because a little boy understood the need to dream, to plan, and to prepare for the future. In doing so, he changed his life and the lives of others.

STRANGER ON A TRAIN

: Strangers On A Train
Published by djmick on September 9th, 2009

Sitting together on a train, travelling through the Swiss Alps, were
an English guy, a Scottish bloke, a little old Greek lady, and a young blonde Swiss girl with large breasts.
The train goes into a dark tunnel and a few seconds later there is the sound of a loud slap. When the train emerges from the tunnel, the English guy has a bright red, hand print on his cheek. No one speaks.
The old lady thinks:
The English guy must have groped the blonde in the dark, and she slapped his cheek.
The blonde Swiss girl thinks:
That English guy must have tried to grope me in the dark, but missed and fondled the old lady and she slapped his cheek.
The English guy thinks:
That Scottish bloke must have groped the blonde in the dark – she tried to slap him but missed and got me instead.
And the Scottish guy thinks:
I can’t wait for another tunnel, just so I can smack that English prick again…..

Visa Inc posted a stronger-than-expected profit

Visa Inc posted a stronger-than-expected profit on Wednesday, helped by rising debit card processing volume.
The company's shares rose 2.6 percent in after-hours trading to $85.75, a stark contrast to a year ago, when it traded at $47.54.
Weakness in the economy has spurred more U.S. consumers to pay using their debit cards instead of their credit cards, Visa executives said. New U.S. regulations have also weighed on credit card spending volume, Visa Chief Executive Joseph Saunders said on a conference call.
"(Credit card spending) is not growing at anything close to the rates that it historically has, and obviously a lot of that has to do with the economy, and a lot of it has to do with the rules and regulations," Saunders said.

Visa, operator of the world's largest credit and debit payment network, receives fees whenever consumers use one of its credit or debit cards. As consumers worldwide increasingly pay using plastic, the company's revenue rises.
The company said quarterly profit was $763 million, or $1.02 a share, in its fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with profit of $574 million, or 74 cents per class A share, in the same quarter a year earlier.

That beat analysts' average forecast for earnings of 91 cents a share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Revenue was $1.96 billion, compared with $1.74 billion in the same quarter a year earlier.
Revenue rose in large part because payment volume on Visa debit cards for the quarter ended in September rose 8 percent to $268 billion. That translates to revenue in the quarter ended in December. Credit card payment volume was flat over the same period.
Transaction volume in the quarter ended in December rose 14 percent, Visa said, which should translate to higher revenue next quarter.

Visa said it expected annual net revenue growth of between 11 percent and 15 percent. In October, the company said it expected revenue in the lower end of that range.

Visa, which does not lend at all, pulled off a record U.S. IPO almost two years ago as investors seized on its growth potential and lack of direct exposure to the global credit crisis.

Acai Berry: About
Acai berries come from palm trees that are native to Central and Southern America. These palm trees thrive mainly in floodplains and swamps. The tall, slender, graceful palms grow up to 30 meters tall and have leaves that grow up to 3 meters long.
Acai palms grow quickly and are used for both their fruit and the heart of the palm, which is often used in salads. Each palm can produce up to 50 pounds of berries per year. Amazonian tribes have known about the health properties of this berry for centuries, and now the world wide demand for the fruit has meant that they are now cultivated mainly for that purpose.

Acai Berry is a small round black purplish fruit that looks like grape both in appearance and size though with a lesser pulp. Acai berry fruit has a single large seed, when the berries are ripe, the exocarp turn into a deep purple color or green depending on the type of acai berry as well as its maturity. The endocarp of the acai berry fruit takes about 80% of the fruit while the fleshy part of the berry is the mesocarp that contains the pulp which is of a uniform thickness. Acai berries are a very important component of food for the Amazon people of Brazil and it constitute and forty-two percent of the food intakes for the people of this region and the juice and pulp of this fruits have been found to be very useful and it is used as blends in various juices such as soda, smoothies and several other drinks.

The berries have the tendency to deteriorate very fast after harvest due to its high fatty content and today several companies now use acai berry to produce juice and energy drink. Acai berry is not only good for food, since eighty percent of the fruit constitutes the seed; the seeds can be ground for livestock or used as manure for plants. The research carried out on acai berry fruit has been found it to be very nutritious and it has been reported that about 100g of extract of the fruit contains 52,2g of Carbohydrates, 8.1g of protein, 32.5g of fat and 44.2g of fiber forms part of the carbohydrates portion of the fruit. Acai berry being a high fat content fruits also contains oleic acid, palmitic acid and linoleic acid, the berries also have antioxidant properties, also the fruit have been known to help increase energy level and when the juice are extract from the fruit to produce beverages it aid the digestive system.

Though Acai berry is just coming on stage in America circle but it has been around for many centuries and has been a source of healthy living to the many people especial the natives of Brazil.

How Acai Berry Helps You Lose Weight?
Acai berries are most known as a weight loss supplement, although they have a number of other benefits such as reducing the aging process and helping cell recovery. The weight loss properties of acai berry can be largely explained by the increased metabolic rate it causes. This happens because of the very large amount of antioxidants (substances, which prevent oxidative stress and cell damage) it contains. This leads to faster fat breakdown, increases energy levels and fights fatigue. Combined, these effects make the process of losing weight faster and easier without any side effects usually associated with synthetic chemicals. Many research papers suggest that eating a diet high in antioxidants is the key to successful weight loss.

How to Choose the Right Acai Berry Supplement?

DRINK OF THE WEEK

DRINK OF THE WEEK ( from Chef T. Ball )
SEX ON THE BEACH
By Trey Stevens - Saturday Drink
SEX ON THE BEACH
INGREDIENTS
• ¾ oz Vodka
• • ¾ oz Peach Schnapps
• • Orange Juice
• • Cranberry Juice
• • 1 dash Grenadine
INSTRUCTION
Pour all the alcohol over ice and then fill up with equal amounts of orange and cranberry juice. Add a dash of grenadine syrup and decorate with lemon slice.
WHEN DO YOU DRINK IT?
There are few other drinks out there that have such innuendo, especially if you offer this one to a girl while vacationing in a tropical locale.

The Perfect Dirty Martini (a Tanner top four)
What could be classier than this drink for the perfectly classy woman -- or, at least, the one who wants to look like her?

Ingredients:
2 oz Belvedere Vodka
½ oz olive juice
¼ oz dry vermouth
2 green olives

Directions:
Start by filling a martini glass full of ice and cold water. To a shaker full of ice add the vodka and olive juice. Shake until the outside of the shaker becomes “frosty.” Strain the ice and water out of the glass and add the vermouth. Swirl the vermouth around the inside of the glass just to coat it, and then dump out the excess. Add the vodka olive juice mix and two olives to the martini glass. Tanner's take on this one: “I like blue-cheese-stuffed olives for the best garnish, but maybe that’s just me and every women I’ve served -- voila.”
The Perfect Cosmo
Cosmos seem to fit into a lady’s hand like a baseball glove does a man’s. This girlie drink recipes is a perfectly simple concoction that she will feel comfortable walking around a bar or party with all night. And talk about simple to make:

Ingredients:
2 oz Belvedere Vodka
1 oz cranberry juice
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 oz Triple Sec

Directions:
Add all the ingredients to a shaker full of ice. Shake about 20 times, and then strain into a chilled martini glass. That's it, that's all.
The Mandi
This recipe came from my brother, Ryan, who works for Budweiser and spends a lot of time in bars. Whenever he meets a girl who doesn’t want to drink beer, but is not in the mood for liquor, he buys her one of these girlie drinks. It's an American twist on the British Pixie Stick.

Ingredients:
½ pint glass Michelob Ultra
½ pint glass Sprite

Directions:
Pour both ingredients into a pint glass and give a quick stir with a long bar spoon. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.

Chocolate Cake (a Tanner top four)
Be careful, men, because this one is so surprisingly tasty that it may become a closet favorite of yours too -- and that is not something you want to admit, ever. Try it once in private, and then try to tell us we’re lying.

Ingredients:
¾ oz Frangelico
¾ oz Stoli Vanilla Vodka
Granulated sugar
Lemon wedge

Directions:
Pour the Frangelico and vodka into a shaker full of ice. Shake well and strain into a shot glass rimmed with sugar. Serve with the lemon wedge garnishing the side of the glass. Tanner suggests that you “lick, shoot and then bite. It tastes surprisingly like chocolate cake!”
Tuaca Lemon Drop (a Tanner top four)
You know you’ve overheard a beautiful girl ordering one of these shots late at night. Ever wondered how to make it? Here’s the recipe, and by all means put on the full show. Be prepared, after you make the first, everyone at the party will quickly be ordering one.

Ingredients:
1½ oz ice chilled Tuaca
½ teaspoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon Grand Marnier
1 lemon wedge

Directions:
Drench both sides of the lemon in sugar and set on a small plate. Heat the Grand Marnier in a tablespoon over a lighter for about 10 seconds then pour over the lemon. Immediately light the lemon on fire. When the fire burns out, pour the Tuaca and serve. “Shoot then suck!” reminds Tanner.
Sex with an Alligator (a Tanner top four)
There’s something the ladies love about a layered shot. The reason for the layers is the density of each different ingredient. Like mixing oil and water, they will naturally separate. If you slowly pour each layer, you won't need to wait for separation. If this shot doesn't turn out the first time around, try again but pour slowly and carefully. And you can enjoy the ugly one in private.

Ingredients:
1 oz Stoli Vodka
1 oz sweet and sour mix
½ oz Jagermeister
½ oz Chambord

Directions:
Shake the vodka and sweet and sour mix with ice for about 20 seconds. Strain into a shot glass. Slowly pour the Jager and Chambord over the back of your bar spoon. Be sure to press the tip of the spoon against the inside of the glass. If distinctive layers don't form immediately, allow the drink to sit for a minute or two and they should separate beautifully.

IMPRESS THE GIRLIES
There you have it. Head off into the world as a new and confident man ready to tackle the arena of girlie drinks. Use this information to prepare the perfect drink that will win her over and, better yet, impress her friends. Thanks again to Craig Tanner and the beautiful girls at 3rd Base Sports Bar in Frisco, Texas, for their help with these recipes.
Enjoy, and good luck!

Secret of Happy Married Life

Once I was asked by my Friend, "What is the secret behind your happy married life?"

I said, "You should share responsibilities with due love and
Respect each other. Then absolutely there will be no problems."

He asked, "Can you explain?"

I said, "In my house, I take decisions on bigger issues where as my wife decides on smaller issues. We do not interfere in each other's decisions."

Still not convinced, Friend asked me "Give me some examples"

I said," Smaller issues like, which car we should buy, how much amount to save, when to visit home town, which Sofa, air conditioner, refrigerator , monthly expenses, whether to keep a maid or not etc are decided by my wife. I just agree to it"

He asked, "Then what is your role?"

I said," My decisions are only for very big issues. Like whether America should attack Iran, whether Britain should lift sanction over Zimbabwe, whether to widen African economy, whether Sachin Tendulkar should retire, etc etc and Do you know one thing,

My wife NEVER, EVER objects to any of these"…………!!!!!!

Benefits of better ties are many, not just for those at the border, but also for New Delhi & Islamabad

Benefits of better ties are many, not just for those at the border, but also for New Delhi & Islamabad.

From the icy Himalayan heights of Siachen to the scorching sands of the Thar, military boots dot the landscape and at great cost. Ripped out from their families and all of civilizations, soldiers on both sides of the border spend months in these hostile frontiers. If on the Siachen, many of these soldiers go back with frostbite and end up with severed limbs, the desert leaves the sentinels scarred with much more than sunburns.

Putting balm on the sunburns and frostbites is the smallest of the peace dividends that would cascade once the hostility cedes. The biggest among them would be restoration of normal life in Kashmir, a trade windfall for businessmen on both sides of the border, a chance to plough some of the millions of dollars spend on guns towards butter for the poor citizenry and even lighting up homes in the Thar.

"Friendship between Pakistan and India is intrinsically related to the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. There can be no two opinions about how definitely it impacts life in our state," says Mehbooba Mufti, leader of the People's Democratic Party in J&K. "Everything has been tried to resolve Kashmir without of course anchoring a resolution in the space that can be created only by good relations between the two neighbours.

While it's necessary that the relations between the two are normalized, it's equally important that Kashmir is viewed both at the level of the cause and consequence of bad blood. The two objectives go hand in hand and cannot be seen in isolation," says the Kashmiri leader. It doesn't take much to see the obvious benefits of peace along the concertina-wire wrapped, land-mined frontier. But the more intangible ones are equally important to both New Delhi and Islamabad.

For India, embarking on a roadmap for peace — difficult as it seems looking through the current blood-splattered, terror-stained prism — would enhance its international stature and cement its role as a regional power. It would be viewed globally as the action of a mature state, not insecure about its neighbourhood and willing to rise above petty domestic constraints to win larger security dividends.

"In the long run the obstacles may be insurmountable, but India needs to resolve not just Kashmir but Pakistani irredentism in order to manage its own complex relationship with China and its own troubled regions," says Stephen Cohen of the Washington-based think-tank Brookings Institute.

One area where dividends will be visible is trade and a loosening up of the stringent regimes and complicated border trade rules will benefit farmers and medium traders on both sides. Currently, apart from an odd truckload of tomatoes, a few sacks of chillies and perhaps a few thousand bales of cotton, very little gets past Attari or the other two trading points. And annual trade is a miniscule amount of a few hundred crores. Businessmen say that ironing out rules that force traders to unload goods at the border and re-load them on trucks of the other side are unnecessary impediments. Of course, the post-26/11 fears that every truckload of goods is bringing plastic explosives and/or is being driven by suicide bombers doesn't provide the best backdrop for boosting trade.

The guns and butter argument is always too simplistic and analysts know that monies diverted from a softened defence budget do not immediately flow into making of schools and health centres. But for both India and Pakistan with more than 1 billion extremely poor people between them, lowering temperatures is enough to give planners a chance at least to think along these lines. A calculation by Farrukh Saleem of the Centre for Research and Security Studies in Islamabad illustrates how a small air sortie during the Kargil misadventure would have dented the exchequer by sucking out nearly Rs 1 million in fixed costs, fuel
expenses and the bill for bombs and ammo.

While that aspect of the dividend may be open to debate what's settled is that ending hostility would save more than 3,000 soldiers on either side of the Siachen faultline from the frostbite zone where more than 1,000 lives have reportedly been lost by each side, mostly from cold-related causes, avalanches and chopper crashes.

The biggest benefactor of peace would clearly be Kashmir, where cross-border terrorism combined with homegrown azadi aspirations has torn asunder life. Peace would help ease restriction on the gateway to PoK where many of the divided families live, help trade and give Kashmiris a chance to reorganize their lives. "It's vital, though not sufficient to have peace with Pakistan for stabilizing the situation in Kashmir, as there are several associated issues that will also have to be broached and settled, most notably that of water resources," says Ayesha Jalal, a historian of South Asian affairs at Tufts University.

Apart from these, there are some obvious low-hanging fruits of peace. The contentious water flows problem can be discussed with less rancour, fishermen from both countries will be able to ply their trade without fear of arrest and harassment once the demarcation in Sir Creek is completed and even cheap natural gas from the fields in Iran could flow into Indian cities through Pakistan. And on the issue of energy, cooperation could also enter uncharted territory. The discovery of 100,000 sq km of coal reserves on the Pakistani side of the Thar could be a huge source of power and a filip to industrialization not only there but across the border in Rajasthan.

The low-sulphur reserves, estimated at 200 billion tonnes, have not yet been touched since the discovery in 1991. Observers say thermal power could reduce Pakistani energy insecurity by reducing dependence on hydel power and electricity produced could be sold across the border

A marblesl Story

A Small Story
A boy and a girl were playing together. The boy had a collection of marbles. The girl had some sweets with her. The boy told the girl that he will give her all his marbles in exchange for her sweets. The girl agreed.
The boy kept the biggest and the most beautiful marble aside and gave the rest to the girl. The girl gave him all her sweets as she had promised.
That night, the girl slept peacefully. But the boy couldn't sleep as he kept wondering if the girl had hidden some sweets from him the way he had hidden his best marble.
Moral of the story: If you don't give your hundred percent in a relationship, you'll always keep doubting if the other person has given his/her hundred percent.. This is applicable for any relationship like love, friendship, employer-employee relationship etc., Give your hundred percent to everything you do and sleep peacefully

Silica

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Employers are required under Section 5.54 (Exposure control plan) of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (OHSR) to develop an exposure control plan (ECP) when workers are or may be exposed to airborne silica dust in excess of 50% of the exposure limit.

To assist occupational health and safety professionals with this task, WorkSafeBC has posted the following sample documents (in editable Microsoft Word format), which can be used to help create an employer’s ECP. Note that these sample documents are not sufficient to constitute an ECP; a WorkSafeBC occupational hygiene officer would have to make a determination as to whether or not a completed ECP meets the requirements of the OHSR.

Title: Exposure control plan for cutting fibrous cement board (Word 95kb)
Description: The cutting of fibrous cement board without proper dust controls can generate high levels of silica-containing dust. Breathing in this fine dust can cause a serious lung disease called silicosis, which is characterized by scarring and thickening of the lung and can result in death. This information will help contractors develop an Exposure Control Plan (ECP) for work involving the cutting of fibrous cement board.
