Is India l a Developing Country

Besides all wealth in all fields like technology, literature, computer, etc, India is still a developing country. Why it couldn’t reach the status of developed countries yet? Most common reasons are stated below.

Politics and Politicians
Though the ruling systems of kings and queens got over a long before, still the dynasty ruling is there in India’s politics, spoiling it to the best. Every politicians aim is to bring a heir from his own family/blood before he dies or retires from politics. In India, politics is seen as the one best business where you can earn as much as possible and even enter the list of “World’s top Millionaires list”. Due to this dynasty rule, new and active members are not able to break through the iron gates of politics to bring fresh enthusiasm in politics. According to latest studies, 99% of the Indian politicians have bank accounts in Switzerland with Millions of money deposited. Where did that money come from? When they entered politics, their wealth was just few thousands. If possible to bring that money from Swiss bank, then India will be the richest country in the world.

Instead of making laws and budget to improve the poor people who are in the poverty line, these politicians are making rules to help richer people to turn richest and poor to become poorest. Few years before, a minister gave relax in the tax for “DOG” biscuits. When food is in scarcity for human being itself in India, who will buy dog biscuits? It is only possible to those who can afford. Later some research showed that one of his wife’s brothers was running a dog biscuit factory. How is it possible for India to grow, if everyone uses politics to water their own plants?

Ignorance of People

I have few relatives living abroad. When they return home, they will keep complaining about India. “Oh it is nasty. No cleanliness is followed here. People are stupid and dump. See the roads. It is all because of useless Government “, and so on. While saying this, if you watch their actions, you will feel laughing. The talking person will be spitting on the road side and threw the chocolate paper (the chocolate brought from abroad) on the street. If a foreign government asks you to keep the city clean, you will follow. But if the same is asked by Indian government, none of you will follow, but just complain. How India will develop with such super literate people?

Inferiority Complex

Though lots of people from India are in high positions and ranks all over the world, the average Indians living in abroad are still having Inferiority complex. They tend to jump to the other culture of the country, where they are residing, to show their sincerity to the living country. I don’t say it is wrong. Learning new cultures and traditions are good. But the problem here is, they give up their root value. They forget their Indian culture. When I met some Indians here in Switzerland, I eagerly spoke to them. But shocked when few said, “I’m Indian, but I left India 30 years before. So I don’t have any touch with it anymore”. They even try to hide their identity as Indians, by changing their dressings and all life styles. They are yet to come out of their slavery mode. The British rule for 200 years taught them to obey and think low of them at all times.

Population & Bribes

India’s population is a non-stop, growing one. There was an old story. Once a king of a large kingdom got complaints that people were not getting the benefits fully, of any development plans announced by him. So he asked his minister the reason behind that. The minister brought an ice cream and gave it in the hands of king and asked to pass it to the person sitting next to him, until it reaches the person at the corner of the building. When the ice cream reached the last person, it was almost over. The reason behind is, there were lots of people in that building and before it reached the last person, it got melted and enjoyed by others in between.

In Switzerland, the government gives aid to those who are disabled, aged and jobless. Also it gives fund for children. Since the population is less, it is easy for this government to implement these types of helps. Indian population is too high for any benefits to reach them fully. Part of the money to support the plan will be shared by the politicians involved and rest will be swallowed by the authorities who need to implement the plans. What else will be left to do for the people?

Stolen Wealth
200 years of rule by British left India empty at the end. Everything was looted and stolen. There is nothing left out.

Education System

The base of the education system still followed in India was created during the British rule. During the slave life, India was introduced with the education system to create more slaves as clerks and assistants. It lacks thinking and creativity. I read a story somewhere. A teacher taught the kinder garden students “A – Apple, B – Ball, etc…” The next day, she conducted test. She asked the first student “A for?” and the student replied “Apple”. She gave an apple as gift to that kid. She asked the next student “B for?” That baby too wanted apple. So that kid replied “Big Apple”. What a great creativity? But you know what the teacher said? “Wrong. B is for Ball. Can’t you remember?” and didn’t appreciate the student’s creativity and different thinking. So, what that child will do from next class onwards. It will stop its own thinking and will just follow what the teacher taught and mug it up.

Dependency
Though Indians are shining in all fields, most of the companies where they are shining belong to western countries. So, any problems and issues faced by those countries will first affect India. The first people to lose job due to recessions will be Indians, who are spread all over the world working for various Multi National Companies (MNC).

Since I told all the negatives faced by India, doesn’t mean India lacks true Indians. We have great Indian souls, working for India, and will surely turn India into a developed country, soon in nearest future. I’ll do my level best as an Indian, to do something for my “Mother India”. If we compare the growth chart of India, in the past 50+ years after Independence, no other country was able to make it. We will reach our goal soon, besides whatever the negatives run behind us to stop us.
